The Noir106 website served as the main hub for the class. All posts written by the students in the class were syndicated to the site. Each week, a post appeared listing the week’s work. The syllabus and course schedule were also available on the website. Throughout the semester, students had to submit data such as their Character Dossiers and examples of noir. There are links in the menu to these forms. Links to the videos created by the professors leading the course appeared on the menu. It was intended that students would come to this site and be able to access other facets of the narrative through the syndication of blog posts and links to videos as well as other content.
The website itself underwent some changes over the semester as a way to construct the tone of noir as well as hint at narrative elements.
On January 19, 2015, the blog theme was changed to better suit the tone of noir.
Other modifications were later made to the appearance of the website.
The website’s headline also changed throughout the semester in hopes of it catching the eye of a student and prompting some kind of curiosity. Initially the headline read “storytelling after dark.” After the appearance of NoirCat, the headline read “here kitty kitty.” Later it was changed to “straight down the line.”
